Ghazel Waiz is the Administrative Assistant to Drs. Rochelle Dicker and Catherine Juillard, providing administrative and technical support to their various clinical, research, and education-related projects. In 2014, she received her BA in Public Health with a minor in Global Poverty and Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. During her time at Berkeley, she served as Peer Advisor for the undergraduate public health program and assisted students in choosing classes, finding extracurricular opportunities, and preparing for the major. She was a volunteer in the prenatal and administration offices of La Clínica North Vallejo and worked with the pharmacy technician in processing the clinic's prescription requests. Additionally, she interned for the Early Intervention Services at Children's Hospital Oakland assisting in conducting a developmental play group for children with disabilities. In the future, Ghazel plans to pursue a master's degree in public health and is interested in improving access to healthcare in the developing world as well as studying violence prevention issues locally. At the Center for Global Surgical Studies and the San Francisco Wraparound Project, she assists the research team in conducting literature reviews, tracking patient data, and preparing quantitative and qualitative data for analysis.
